Genuine friendship is based on trust. For others to trust us, we must be trustworthy. Trustworthiness means integrity and honesty. It also means nonjudgmental listening. It means respect, even in the face of different views. Furthermore, it means genuine caring for others. When there is trust in a relationship, there is no suspicion, and there is no fear. There is safety and there is warmth. There is love. Being together in a trusting relationship creates an atmosphere of joy that radiates out. This joy is infectious, even greater than the Covid Delta variant!
