We usually over-shoot or under-shoot. Either we become arrogant and too sure of ourselves, or we become insecure and too unsure of ourselves. Threading the needle finding health self-confidence, free from arrogance and insecurity, is our goal for finding inner peace. Being on the lookout, observing with mindfulness, arrogance and insecurity is the key. Recognizing arrogance or insecurity leads to making effort at finding the right balance of healthy self-confidence. Reminding ourselves repeatedly of the faults of arrogance and insecurity gives us courage to recognize and change our attitudes and behavior. Righteousness and guilt become our enemies. Humility and confidence become our warriors.
