Finding the right balance can sometimes feel like passing a thread through a small needle hole. A lesson I’ve learned over the years is not to force things; not to keep trying to force a square peg through a round hole, especially when I am feeling frustrated or impatient. Forcing throws me even more out of balance, and is usually ineffective anyway. My mind is mostly alert, but sometimes too much so that I forget to relax. This balance of alertness and relaxation is important. It allows the energies to flow smoothly. It helps us sit properly and calms and focuses our mind. Nature is like that, in balance clear and seamless. Balance helps us connect, even merge, with nature and the natural state of the mind.
