When I was young my friends owned a motel. They called it the ‘Ho Hum motel.’ I don’t know exactly what they meant by ‘Ho Hum,’ but I have always thought it meant to relax and be silent in the present moment without any worries. Every time I remembered the name ‘Ho Hum’ it relaxed me and made me feel that everything was alright. Yes, there were problems, but when I remembered ‘Ho Hum’ the problems seemed to diminish in importance. My whole being reverberated with the sound of ‘Ho Hum.’ My whole being reverberated with joy. ‘Ho Hum’ seemed to mean ‘Om,’ and when recited it brought me home to my true nature.
