Each one of us sees ourself as the center of the universe. Animals do too. This is ego-centricity. We all try to find happiness and eschew pain. It is all based on the delusion of “us vs. them.” Actually, we are all sisters and brothers in one human and animal family. There is no us. There is no them. Broadening that narrow perspective of ego-centricity to include everyone is eco-centricity. This holistic approach views all of us as members of the same family. This includes mother earth with all her intricate beautiful ecosystems.
