Hong Kong University

Yesterday I delivered my first lecture to the third year medical students at Hong Kong University Medical School. We discussed “Using Compassion as a Method to Handle Difficult Situations.” We framed managing difficult situations in grace and gentleness. Death, fear of death, anger, arrogance, jealousy, and betrayal were some of the difficult situations we tried framing in grace and gentleness. Nearly every day for a month I have talks to give both to the HKU students of medicine and Buddhist Studies. One day we hiked (3 hours straight up!) to the sublime Big Buddha (11 stories tall and magnificent). Another day we released over 6000 large fish from boats in the sea saving their lives. This was graced by Tulku Pema and Jigme Khentse Rinpoche. So far Hong Kong is embracing me with love and kindness.
