When it feels like the rug is being pulled out from under you, remember there is no rug and no you. At least not the ones we normally relate to. Everything is like a dream, an image in a dream when we wake up. It seemed so real, but then we recognize, “it was just a dream.” This attitude helps soften the rough edges, and smooths out the bumps in life. It eases “mendokusai” [Japanese], or hopelessness and apathy in English.
