Jealousy and judging others negatively are insidious and rampant. These disturbing emotions often go undetected, under the radar. Mindfulness is key. Checking inside our mind and heart repeatedly to identify destructive (destroying our inner peace) emotions is crucial. When we find jealousy or putting others down, we have a choice. We can follow it, or we can resist. Resisting jealousy means appreciating others’ success and qualities. It does not harm our self-esteem as we feel in our gut it may. Rather it enhances our self-esteem and happiness. So practicing appreciation to counter jealousy is another one of those rare WIN-WIN situations. Go for it!
