Are you gentle with yourself? Most of us find it difficult. Many of us are overachievers and set the expectation bar for ourself very high. When we don’t reach it we beat ourself up, again and again. Sometimes we are not aware that we are doing this, yet we feel lousy. If we’ve done 10 things in a day and 8 went well, what do think about when we go home? Yes, the 2. We forget the other 8 that went well. So a reality check is in order to remember the good stuff we are doing all the time. This is self-compassion, taking care of ourself.
