Never forget the joy, even if you are not feeling it, remember it. This is our true default setting – joy and love. Even remembering it can help lift the cloud, at least a little. The more we think about concern for others the happier we will be. This is another approach to reducing self-grasping, the me-me-me stuff. It is powerful. It requires reminders throughout the day. It is an awesome way to live. Everything sparkles, even in the midst of tremendous adversity and struggle. We have clarity to act, when necessary. We know the right thing to do. This way of living situates us among others, not separate from them. This is an amazing way to forgive ourselves. It focuses on the light, not on the darkness. The darkness is there, but that is no problem. It allows us to see the light. For it is from mud that we grow.
