Let’s start the new year with a clean slate. Forgiveness is at the top of the list to clean our slate. Let go of hurts and all kinds of ‘stickiness.’ Whatever feels stuck, just consciously let it go. Please don’t worry about who is right and who is wrong. Just let it go. Lighten the load. Feel free. Feel happy. Feel energized to begin the new year. Next to forgiveness of others is forgiveness of ourself. Recently I was reading that hating oneself is a growing problem around the world. It is connected with more and more focus on me, me, me. We take so many selfies and harshly criticize how we look, how our body looks. The standard is set so high we never make it. We are becoming more and more familiar with putting ourself down. This self-focus is negative, often aggressively so. Putting ourself down expands into putting others down, even at times bullying others. This is not a good way to start the new year. Let go of feelings of self-hatred. Let go of this compulsive focus on me, me, and me. Give yourself a break. Cut yourself some slack. Think about others, especially those hating themselves and being overly hard on themselves. Send them love; send them acceptance; send them friendship; send them inner peace and happiness. Internal disarmament is the best way to start this new year 2019.
