As we gracefully slide into the new year let’s remember to leave our excess baggage behind. Our baggage of harmful habits need not follow us into 2019. Mindfulness is the key. Like a spy observing our habitual reactions, we keep a watchful eye. Similar to crossing a border while traveling we must declare our “goods” at customs. Let’s take stock, and declare our goods, our negative habitual tendencies. Leave them behind. They are no longer useful. They never were. This takes commitment and courage and is another great new year’s resolution to back with strong determination. Consider the heaviness and burden of continuing to carry this excess baggage. Lighten our load; feel relaxed and happy. Feel light as a feather, able to fly like a bird. 2019 is the start of a new healthy and happy life.
