Sometimes we’re happy, sometimes we’re sad. It is all the same, just experience. The more we remember this, the less attached we become to pleasure and pain. With practice we cultivate a refuge deep within our heart. It is a safe place. It is a warm place. It is a blissful place. It is a place for us to return to whenever we need. With more practice it is always with us, this place of deeper mind filled with joy, love, and wisdom. Even without practice it is always with us. With practice we begin to recognize it. Regular meditation helps to cultivate this. Stepping back from attachment helps to cultivate this. Practicing wisdom helps to cultivate this. Opening the heart to unconditional love helps to cultivate this.
