The strength of our emotional patterns can be overwhelming. Given the right circumstances, that are not always obvious, the same patterns of anger, jealousy, pride, and attachment recur. They seem to come out of the blue, but if we look closely these same patterns are so ingrained they happen almost automatically. One minute we can be calm and balanced. Seemingly out of nowhere we are thrown off balance with jealousy or strong attachment, almost like an addiction. Then the littlest thing can set us off with frustration and irritation, leading to a short popping off in anger, either outwardly or inwardly. With practice and gain a sense of progress lessening our emotional reactions, albeit up and down. Beginning to see everything like a dream when we wake up softens our reactions, eventually eliminating negativity. Every situation will at some point evoke wisdom and unconditional love.
