Sometimes you run out of ideas to write

Sometimes you run out of ideas to write. What do you do? Maybe sit back and allow whatever comes up. What do you do when you get writer’s block, and how did the great writers handle this? Most important for me is not to push. There is a tendency to “push through.” But this style lacks finesse. You cannot push a square peg through a round hole. It lacks naturalness. It lacks ease. It lacks spontaneity. Pushing in these situations often makes things worse. Then what to do? Maybe talk or write about the situation, as I’m doing now. But that is not helpful for others. Jetlag is an issue today as I’ve just traveled half way around the world on multiple flights. Accept the situation with the conviction it too shall pass. Remember all those who haven’t slept well and pass an imaginary Tinkerbell magic wand over them sprinkling magic sleeping dust.
