Deep listening is a way of life. It involves listening fully, with your heart and your mind. Concentration is required to stay focused in the present moment and fully attentive. Open heart is required to stay nonjudgmental. Often our listening is shallow. We might be judging the other person. Or we might be starting to formulate in our mind our response, having stopped listening. Deep listening is a skill that needs to be trained. Mindfulness and compassion are ingredients. Trust, respect, love, and connection are results. Emaho!
