A 21-day lockdown

We in India have just been placed on a 21-day lockdown. We are not supposed to leave our homes. I know many of you are suffering. Some are sick, some have died, and most of us are fearful. The changes to the way we lead our lives have been thrust upon us quickly, as if being harnessed into a straight-jacket. Under normal circumstances we become complacent. We go along the way we always have. These times are different. We are required to be vigilant. We are required to be safe, not only for ourself and our loved ones, but for the greater society. It is an act of sacrifice. It is an act of compassion. It is an act building character.
