Inner peace

World peace comes from inner peace. Inner peace needs to be taught in all levels of education as well as within families. Inner peace is kindness towards ourself and others. It is remaining calm in the face of adversity. It is the source of clear action dismantling injustice. Thus, inner peace is fueled by love and compassion. The Democratic National Convention is fueled by understanding, love and compassion. Rumination makes us crazy, erodes sound sleep, propelling us into an imaginary future, or into a past that is finished. It is selfish, as it is all about me, me, me. It pushes us off center away from the present moment. Expand your heart; expand your mind. Think of the welfare of others. Inner peace is deep wellness regardless of outer circumstances. Take a few deep breathes, drink less coffee, eat less sweets, and get regular exercise. These all help cultivate relaxed alertness, bolstering inner peace.
