Not taking ourselves too seriously makes life easier. Both quantum physics and Buddhist philosophy come to the conclusion that appearances are false. Things appear objective and independent. This is mistaken. Our ego appears independent. That is mistaken. When we reduce our grasping to our ego, we are more relaxed, and reduce our attachment, and anger. We lessen our attachment to praise, reputation, gain, and pleasure. We lessen our aversion to blame, anonymity, loss, and pain. Life becomes easier. We become more loving.
