Be aware. Become the observer. Less energy and pain will be spent reacting, self-criticizing, and wallowing in self-pity. These reaction chains are totally useless. Not only useless, but self-destructive. Not only self-destructive, but delusory. We are not who we think we are, especially when we spiral down. Shift to a more healthy and happy way to live. Step back emotionally and cognitively and just observe. Observe without subtitles judging who we are. Simply observe our inner life. Observation becomes awareness. Cultivating this approach to life brings freedom. Negative thoughts and emotions will still arise, but they no longer have the power over us to spiral us down. Freedom from the exhausting putting ourselves and others down. Yeah!
